10 WWE Feuds That Flat Out Sucked

2. Jerry Lawler Vs. Michael Cole (2011)

Seeing Jerry 'The King' Lawler get his first crack at the WWE Title against The Miz in 2010 was fine. Seeing Lawler wrestle fellow announcer Michael Cole in three consecutive pay-per-view matches in 2011 was not.

The WrestleMania XXVII match may have been passable had it not lasted close to 15 minutes. Though this was (at least) 10 minutes too long, WWE were quite clearly loving Cole's heel commentator run too much to realise that, y'know, he wasn't a trained pro wrestler.

This ignorance led to further gimmick bouts like a 'Country Whipping Match' at Extreme Rules and a 'Kiss My Foot' calamity at Over The Limit. Even Jim Ross and Bret Hart were drafted into a rivalry that needed to end instead of adding more moving parts.

Cole's mean jibes about the passing of Lawler's mother on episodes of Raw felt out-of-place in a feud centred around Mike getting spanked with a belt by JR or swallowing Lawler's feet.
