Diamond Dallas Page's chief reason for stalking The Undertaker's wife Sara was so 'The Deadman' would get angry and raise his profile by giving him a kicking. Genuinely, that was it. DDP shouted, "MAKE ME FAMOUS!" during his introductory run of promos in the WWF after pulling off the hood to reveal his true identity.

This Scooby Doo-level unveiling did nothing for Page's standing with fans.

The problem with bleating about needing to be famous was that DDP was already famous in 2001. That's it in a nutshell. Vince McMahon liked to pretend that nobody gave a toss about WCW's biggest stars, but that simply wasn't true. He knew it too; McMahon wouldn't have bothered doing the big reveal on Raw otherwise.

To summarise, an already famous pro wrestler stalked someone to anger her husband so he'd become famous. That doesn't make any sense, and it wasn't what fans wanted from Page anyway. He went from 'People's Champ' to a creepy git who lurked in the shadows. It was unnecessary.

It sucked.
