10 WWE Finishers That Don't Make Sense
5. Murphy's Law
A man with Buddy Murphy's outstanding character and in-ring capabilities should, without question, be in the spotlight more than he is.
The former Cruiserweight champion has shown time and time again that he can hang with the likes of Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, yet WWE seem - much like with Cedric Alexander and Ricochet - reluctant to pull the trigger on a well deserved push.
Physically, Murphy possess the kind of body tape that Vince McMahon has frequent dreams about, so the problem must lie in another aspect his game - Murphy's finisher could be just that issue.
Murphy's Law lacks the shock factor of say an F5 or an RKO, as it plainly has too much going on for its own good. Starting out in a pump handle, Murphy hoists his rival onto his shoulders and then whips them to the mat at high speed.
This isn't a knock on the impact of the move - as it still looks fairly painful - it's more of a comment on the unrealistic amount of time that an opponent has to prepare for what is coming their way, with the move having so many transitions that could be reversed at any time.
A cleaner and concise way of finishing a match could definitely aid Murphy win over the WWE hierarchy (by provoking an unignorable pop upon execution) and replace a move that, while pleasing to watch, waters down whatever drama Murphy has conjured up in the build-up.
