10 WWE Finishers That Were Quickly Dropped

6. Randy Orton - O-Zone

God bless the Overdriver. Was there a more early '00s move than this convoluted neckbreaker? I mean, that should read 'presumed neckbreaker', as the overdrive was one of those nostalgic moves that involved a lot of limbs moving in a lot of directions but not a lot actually going on. It was tailor-made for early-career Michael Cole to enthusiastically crow all over the thing.

The move was used by a whole host of folks, most notable Randy Orton during the early stages of his WWE career. Named the O-Zone, Orton utilised the move when he wasn't winning via complicated pinning combinations. This was prior to becoming the Legend Killer of course. Would Orton's career have gone the way it did if he was hitting RVD, Mick Foley and the rest with this lame move?

Never doubt Randy Orton. The Viper could have used the Saxtonation and become a superstar. It was his destiny, or at least it was his WWE-approved destiny. Success was always in his future, but making the move from O-Zone to RKO was undoubtedly a fantastic move. Pun intended? Pun intended.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
