10 WWE Gimmicks I Loved (That Everybody Else Hated)

1. "American Badass" Undertaker

WWE.comWWE.comWhen The Undertaker became more of a "normal guy" as the American Badass that rode a motorcycle to the ring and dressed like a regular person he was amazing. There are loyal Undertaker fans that hate it, though. Apparently WWE hates it too. When they post top 10 Undertaker moments on Youtube they completely ignore that entire period where he was the American Badass biker dude. Former WWE employees have told stories about how Vince McMahon gets mad if anybody brings up that version of the character up because for whatever reason he didn't like it. It's like we're supposed to forget what Undertaker did from mid 2000 to late 2003? That's not easy to do. Plus, it was a great character. If you look at his run when he was in that role there were so many great feuds that he had: Ric Flair, Brock Lesnar, the ladder match with Jeff Hardy and that amazing moment in the Royal Rumble with Maven. As a heel he was unlike anybody in wrestling. It was like watching a 1980s old school heel that was going to have a 30 minute brawl full of blood. It was nothing like the emotionless traditional Undertaker gimmick. Since the character was only around for about three years of The Undertaker's 20+ year career it didn't last too long, but its greatness needs to be remembered. He really did a fantastic job with it and it's a character that I miss whether it's popular to say that or not. A lot of Undertaker fans only want to see him as the Deadman. Anything else is bad. That shouldn't be the case, though. He was terrific in this role.
