10 WWE Gimmicks That Are Broken

5. SAnitY - Post-apocalyptic Thugs

There’s definitely something novel about SAnitY’s Mad Max-esque raider gimmick, and everyone on the team does a great job of coming across as legitimately unhinged every time they step into the ring.

But there are a few major roadblocks standing in the way of SAnitY’s potential on the main roster, the first being their similarity to the aforementioned Wyatt Family. Like Bray, Eric Young is a supposedly charismatic leader who has managed to coerce similarly unstable fighters into joining him. One can’t help but imagine the gimmick will fall on deaf ears sooner or later, as WWE creative half-cocks the faction in the same way they did the Wyatts.

Not only that, but there are some aspects of the stable that come off as silly, rather than intimidating. It makes sense – within the realms of NXT – that a deranged man might encourage others to help him physically dominate a wrestling company, but that doesn’t explain why they all dress like Fallout NPCs, or have an evil laugh as part of their otherwise fantastic entrance music.

Unfortunately for SAnitY (let’s not even start on the kooky name spelling), the very thing that sets them apart is also what makes them so hard to buy into.
