10 WWE Gimmicks That Worked For One Wrestler (But Not Another)

Worked for: Chyna

Didn't work for: Dana Brooke

WWE’s women’s division loves to argue over who started the “Women’s Revolution”. Charlotte Flair says it was her, Paige says it was her, Sasha Banks says it was her, and so on. But the woman who really laid the groundwork for the Women’s Revolution was Chyna.

She was unlike the other WWF Divas of her era – she was jacked, she was hard-hitting (albeit limited in the ring), and she could “hang” with the boys. She was the first woman ever to enter the Royal Rumble, and she even captured the Intercontinental Championship on two occasions.

Dana Brooke, however, has not had similar results.

Transitioning from a body-building career into the squared circle, Brooke has seen absolutely zero success on both NXT and WWE programming since her debut. They could have had her perform insane feats of strength and get over the way Chyna did, but she’s been pretty much a joke since she showed up.

With no memorable matches, promos, nor even segments to her name, it isn't difficult to imagine WWE officials showing her the door by the end of this year.
