10 WWE Greats Who Made TERRIBLE First Impressions

10. William Regal

The late-90s were hazy for William Regal.

He busily battled addictions, but Jim Ross knew having a clean Regal on his roster was a major plus. So, the figurehead of the WWF's Talent Relations department set up a meeting between worker and boss in 1998. It'd prove to be a disaster for the Englishman, largely because he fell asleep when Vince was talking.

Unsurprisingly, Vince McMahon wasn't pleased and chewed JR out for wasting his time. Ross noted on his top notch 'Grilling JR' pod that he worried Regal might be done for good with the company. That wasn't the case; he'd be reborn as the bumbling Commissioner less than two years later.

The current WWE talent scout and all-round gentleman was in a tough spot back between 1998-1999. Drugs were getting the best of him, and he had to show he was willing to fight through that before McMahon would give him another shot.
