10 WWE Hall Of Famers Used Underwhelmingly In Later Years

7. Hulk Hogan (2003)

The 2002 return run of Hogan as a cherished elder statesman is essentially what kicked off the long-running craze of WWE heavily marketing nostalgia, oftentimes over their current talent pool. Seeing Hogan recapture the magic with a renewed vigor in his old bones had its moments, and it was genuinely cool to see him mix it up with the Attitude Era regulars at times.

When Hogan resurfaced in early-2003 after a six-month sabbatical, he and McMahon tangled in an oddly-engrossing feud (in the way that a fiery pile-up of clown cars would be engrossing). The feud begat Mr America, Hogan's hooded replacement in a storyline so goofy that it made one wish that Hulk had stayed away after Brock Lesnar crushed his ribs into dust. Surely Hogan could've done more than keep hoodwinking McMahon, who was by then becoming a caricature of his old self.
