10 WWE Heel Turns That Ultimately Failed

6. Rikishi Reveals He Ran Over Stone Cold For The Rock - 2000

Who ran down Stone Cold Steve Austin? For a year, that question remained unanswered, and the investigation was ramped up when Austin returned after nearly a year on the shelf with neck surgery. There were a lot of candidates for the culprit, but few people guessed it would be Rikishi. The turn seemed like a natural progression for a guy who had quietly been one of the biggest acts in the company over the course of the year. At the time, his act had gone stale. This may have been the opportunity for Big Kish to take the next step in his career. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFnUxwlLSKA Unfortunately, the heat for the angle was so good, the WWF realized that it could be better used to further put over Triple H, who was starting to turn babyface. Suddenly, it was Triple H who was the mastermind behind the attack, rather than Rikishi. Kish went from a megaheel to a lackey with the snap of a finger. The heel turn then went nowhere, and Rikishi turned back babyface the next April before suffering a serious shoulder injury. He would never be as relevant again in his WWF/E career.
