5. Edge Spears John Cena For Pointless Heel Run - 2010
After years of booing him, the fans were ready to rally behind Edge. His story of coming back from a serious achilles injury to win the Royal Rumble was one that resonated with a lot of fans. The night after Extreme Rules, Edge was drafted from Smackdown to Raw, and then speared John Cena, turning heel in the process. The decision to turn Edge heel was based off the original top heel, Batista, leaving the company. Without a true main heel, Edge filled the role. Edges heel run on Raw in 2010 was unproductive, mostly because of the decision to run with The Nexus as the main heel stable. Edge briefly became a babyface again as he represented Team WWE against The Nexus at Summerslam, then turned back heel when he abandoned the team. Suddenly, back over on Smackdown, they were running into a personnel problem of their own. The top babyface, The Undertaker, was injured, and there was no top babyface to face the World Heavyweight Champion, Kane. Edge was traded back to Smackdown for CM Punk, and was turned back babyface. The heel turn in 2010 was ultimately a waste of a few months for Edge.
