2000's Royal Rumble finish wasn't the first dubious one in the event's already rich history. Closing moments in 1994 and 1995 had worked well, so the WWF decided to have The Rock survive by the skin of his teeth right as Big Show thought he'd won. Here's the kicker: Show did have a legitimate claim to the victory.

Y'see, he claimed Rocky's feet hit the floor first. Most palmed this off as heel whining, but then Show aired footage of... Rocky's feet touching the floor first. Yes, both of them. Nonetheless, Show was still cast as the villain of the piece. Rock even rubbed his nose in it a few times before then losing a follow-up match at No Way Out in February.

Somehow, 'The Great One' managed to muscle in on a WrestleMania spot that belonged to his big rival anyway. In fact, the company went with a four-way headliner at 'Mania 2000. That didn't change the fact that Show had been right about everything since January. His constant moaning for months had been accurate.

In effect, babyface Rock nabbed Show's spotlight twice.
