10 WWE Heels You Most Want To Punch In The Face

6. Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan

How do you know you're drawing real heat as a heel? When fans try to actually shoot and kill you.

That was the kind of heat Bobby Heenan drew to himself and the wrestlers he managed. His repertoire included all of the usual bad-guy manager tools: distracting the ref, complaining, cheating, and then dropping to his knees and begging like a worm if he found himself in harm's way. Common stuff, really, but Heenan was so quick-witted and committed to making fans angry that he's considered one of the best heel managers of all time. And since he was the best, he got to work with the best. His wrestlers, collectively known as "The Heenan Family," were top-of-the-card heels, such as Nick Bockwinkel in the AWA, and King Kong Bundy, Andre the Giant, and Ravishing Rick Rude in the WWF.

While Bobby referred to himself as The Brain, his sneaky, cowardly behaviour led opponents and fan to call him "The Weasel." Heenan's weaselly interference on Bockwinkel's behalf in 1975 drove one fan so crazy that he started shooting an actual gun at Heenan, injuring five fans seated near ringside. In true heel fashion, Heenan escaped unscathed.
