Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton know their way around anything WWE fancy getting them at this point. Veterans amongst chancers, losers, dorks and nerds, the pair can do what they wish with confidence and a charisma beaten out of the blasted millennials Vince McMahon clearly employs in spite of himself.

It must be that level of autonomy that allowed for the audacious action on display in the evening's opener. Jeff swung from the cell before crashing through a table at the finish. Skin hung from Randy Orton's leg (and Kevin Dunn focused in on it) and it wasn't even the grossest thing that happened to him on the night. It didn't even make it onto the podium if awards were offered for such things - which they f*cking should be - if one considers the damage sustained by Jeff Hardy on an upturned ladder and during the torturous period 'The Viper' used a screwdriver to nearly tearing his opponent apart, lobe-first.

A brutal and bloody war, if it was the "dream" match Jeff wanted, he at least gave his adoring public nightmares that'll last as long as his own legendary career.
