Hulk Hogan and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is the rivalry that built the WWE, because if it wasn't for WrestleMania I, the entire landscape would be entirely different. Piper and Hogan's rivalry was so important to WWF that they even built a cartoon around it, with Hogan leading the good guy team of wrestlers, and Piper leading the baddies.

It's unbelievable to think that they were such huge rivals, but only wrestled seven times in the 1980s, with only three of those times being televised. It would seem there was at least some big match where Hogan got his proper revenge against Piper for being a constant thorn in his side, but outside of those three bouts, it didn't happen in the WWF.

Hogan and Piper had the sort of rivalry that would be perfect for the Hell in a Cell, so much so that you can almost close your eyes and envisage how it would happen. Hogan would certainly win, Piper would be shown to be the coward he excelled at playing, and it would go down as a truly classic match in an era that is remembered more for its promos and segments than it is for its wrestling.
