Screen Shot 2014 11 27 At 10 15 05 Edge is an example of a man that truly lived his dream. We all know the story where he was on the fourth row of the Toronto SkyDome for WrestleMania VI with his best friend and fellow WWE superstar Christian. Real name Adam Copeland, Edge was born in Orangeville Ontario, Canada on October 30, 1973. He grew up poor with his single mother Judy, who worked two job to support her son. Amazingly, Edge has never met nor seen a picture of his father. Copeland sites Mr. Perfect, Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Ricky Steamboat and Bret Hart as his main inspirations. He got his foot in the door of the wrestling business by winning an essay contest with his local gym. In return, he received free wrestling training from Sweet Daddy Siki and Ron Hutchinson. While training, he helped his mother pay the bills by working numerous jobs before graduated Humber College with a degree in radio broadcasting. Edge's training spanned over three days a week in his local school's practice boxing ring, which of course has a harder mat than a wrestling ring. The low ceiling meant Copeland became a very skilled mat wrestler and would go on to wrestle on the Canadian independent scene around Ontario and the Great Lakes region of the USA under his infamous ring name, Sexton Hardcastle. Edge would sign a deal with the then WWF in 1997 for around $210 per week.
