10 WWE House Show Matches We Can't Believe Weren't Televised
1. The Rock Vs. Brock Lesnar II - 2003
Brock Lesnar's victory over The Rock at SummerSlam 2002 was one of the most awesome moments in Lesnar's entire career. Capping off a spectacular four months for the rookie Minnesotan, the win saw 'The Next Big Thing' become THE Big Thing in WWE.
Fast forward seven months later and both Rock and Brock were on different roads to WrestleMania XIX. At 'Mania, the babyface Brock would defeat Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship, while the heel Rock would defeat Steve Austin for the first time on 'The Grandest Stage of Them All'.
However, before that took place, Lesnar and Rocky had unfinished business and, incredibly, the big SummerSlam rematch was scheduled for a SmackDown house show. Even more incredibly, that house show occurred just two weeks before WrestleMania XIX took place.
Held in Rock's hometown of Miami, the bout wound up being the tipping point for Lesnar's first run in WWE. Brock states in his autobiography that he was booked to lose cleanly to 'The People's Champ'; the fact nobody told him until an hour beforehand was the icing on the cake.
The handling of the situation left his trust in the company virtually non-existent and began a downward spiral that would end with his shocking exit one year later.
