10 WWE Icons Who Had Totally Forgettable TNA Runs
2. Jim Duggan
Hacksaw Jim Duggan is instantly recognizable to fans who grew up in the Golden Age of pro wrestling. Winner of the first-ever Royal Rumble, 'Hacksaw' is best known for his flag-waving American patriotism and battering people with a 2x4 in WWE, as well as being a notable player for WCW through the Monday Night Wars.
As was so often the case in the early days of TNA, if a performer who fans would recognize was available, there was a spot for them on their show. Mike Sanders appeared on the March 12th, 2003 episode of TNA, expecting to face a developmental talent and telling the world that he was dedicating the upcoming match to his mentor, Vince Russo. Instead, Jim Duggan marched out to old-timey USA entrance music and beat Sanders in just under 6 minutes.
Duggan would then team with Moondog Spot a week later to meet Sanders again, with his partner being the former Disco Inferno, Glen Gilberti, for another victory. Alas, the streak would not last the year as Jeff Jarrett (who else?) would defeat Jim in his third and final match for TNA seven months later.
