10 WWE Main Eventers Fans Rejected
3. The Great Khali
Jinder Mahal’s run as a main event heel has only just begun, but while ‘The Maharaja’ has already attracted plenty of rejection, it’d take a gargantuan effort for him to tank as hard as his countryman, The Great Khali.
A lumbering 7’1" brute, Khali had next to nothing going for him in the ring. His moveset was beyond basic, featuring only a couple of legitimate wrestling holds, and his execution was sloppy at best. Khali was also so slow and plodding that he made Mark Henry look like a sprightly young Cruiserweight by comparison, and his name quickly became a running joke among the WWE faithful as a result.
Khali’s crippling shortcomings meant he never got over as a monster heel, but Vince McMahon kept pushing him regardless. The big man destroyed the likes of Batista and Kane with ease, manhandling his way through the roster throughout his first year with the company, before eventually becoming World Heavyweight Champion in July 2007.
Widely regarded as one of the worst wrestlers to ever hold the belt, Khali mercifully dropped the title after just two months. Size, unfortunately, was the only thing he ever had going for him, and the sole reason he was pushed in the first place.
