10 WWE Managers Who Totally Outshone Their Wrestlers
WWE

This case of a manager outshining their wrestler is worthy of an episode of Dark Side of the Ring.

Sunny outshone her real-life boyfriend Chris Candido in the traditional sense, but it was Candido who introduced Sunny to the world of wrestling, she debuted in WWE a month before him as an on-screen reporter. When her boyfriend arrived as Kip, the two began a heel run, soon adding Zip (Tom Prichard) to The Bodydonnas. Sunny managed the team to a Tag Team Championship win during WrestleMania XII's pre-show.

In addition to the in-ring success of The Bodydonnas, Sunny broke into the mainstream being named AOL's Most Downloaded Woman of the Year in 1996. She was soon separated from The Bodydonnas, moving from tag team to tag team who needed her lucrative star power to get over.

Arguably, it was Sunny's backstage antics that were the most damaging to Candido's career. She began an open affair with Shawn Michaels (and possibly others) and Candido's industry reputation plummeted. This manifested in backstage bullying, which severely impacted on his mental health.

Sunny is a Hall of Famer (Class of 2011), albeit a controversial one, while Candido's name is only evoked in discussions of wrestling tragedy.
