10 WWE Matches That Changed Your Mind About Wrestlers You Hated
8. Dolph Ziggler Vs. Rey Mysterio - SummerSlam 2009
Dolph Ziggler re-debuted in WWE in 2008, and his gimmick wasn't the most inspired one the company's writers ever created - basically, he was a guy with a funny name who compulsively introduced himself. Dolph had the talent and comedic timing to pull off the character, but a feud with The Great Khali and the use of a sleeperhold as a finisher did nothing to let the young star live up to his potential. Dolph finally got his chance in a feud with Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio. Mysterio was fresh off a title feud with Chris Jericho, and this was Dolph's chance to show that he belonged side by side with the major players in the company. Dolph clashed with Mysterio at Night of Champions 2009, but the legendary luchador picked up the win. Dolph kept up his dogged pursuit of the title and challenged Mysterio again at SummerSlam, and this time, the challenger had his opponent well-scouted. Dolph countered many of Mysterio's maneuvers and while the champion retained his title (reportedly Mysterio refused to lose the belt to Ziggler), the challenger showed off his skills and arrived as a proven talent.
