10 WWE Matches That Didn't Know When To End

2. Bret Hart Vs. Vince McMahon - WrestleMania XXVI

As somebody whose absolute favourite wrestler of all-time is Bret Hart, it goes against every fibre of my being to have to include the Hitman in this article - let alone include him twice! - but let's be honest, that WrestleMania XXVI match against Vince McMahon was agonisingly too long.

What audiences needed to see in that match, was McMahon taking the sort of unrelenting beating that many thought he deserved for how he handled things in Montreal back at Survivor Series 1997. And while Vince was largely dominated by Bret throughout their match, this was a contest that could and should have gone no longer than five minutes at the absolute most.

It's actually a little surprising to look back and realise that Hart vs. McMahon only barely scraped 11 minutes in length, for the slow, repetitive beatdown of Vinny Mac honestly felt like it lasted at least 20 minutes in real-time back in 2010 and in any subsequent repeat viewings.

For fans, it would have been enough to see the Excellence of Execution land a few good, stiff shots on Vince, before then tapping him out with his iconic Sharpshooter. And while those said shots and Sharpshooter were indeed accounted for in the match, there was so much needless other shenanigans incorporated into what should have been a brief, laser-focused display of revenge and comeuppance.
