Genuinely top-tier moments have been few and far between for Shinsuke Nakamura in WWE. There was the celebrated NXT run, that Royal Rumble win, some of his work with AJ Styles and a blistering match with John Cena, but there's been little to cheer about aside from that.

If it was up to Vince McMahon, that last one wouldn't even be on the list.

There's a simple reason for that: the man in charge wasn't fond of Nakamura's dangerous-looking back suplex, one that dropped golden boy Cena on his head and noticeably rattled him. Sports Illustrated told after the show how the spot had been improvised, and Naka later apologised to his peer backstage.

That wasn't good enough for Vince. He approached Shinsuke and wanted an explanation for the reckless, unplanned bump. Things were smoothed over when Cena accepted the apology and said he was fine, but McMahon was said to be very annoyed.
