There are a number of people that have had matches in WWE that were treated as jokes as soon as the bell rang, but none were more of a joke than Michael Cole matches. For whatever reason, WWE felt the need to put him in multiple matches in 2011 (he had three PPVs involving Jerry Lawler) and every time they did, they were really over the top in how they presented them. If you go back to relieve those Cole matches you're probably going to regret it because none of them were good and the entertainment value was so minimal that one has to question what WWE was thinking. Remember WrestleMania 27 against Lawler with Steve Austin as ref? They had one of the longest matches of the night with the entire pre and post show segment taking up nearly 30 minutes. Even though Lawler really won the match, Cole ended up declared as the winner. In reality, we were all losers for having to watch it. It was likely one of those thing where Vince McMahon was entertained by the fact that this non-wrestler like Cole was out there trying to take bumps and have matches even though he had no business doing it in the first place. Cole isn't the only one booked that way because Vickie Guerrero was another one like that, but with Cole his matches just seemed worse than the others.
