10 WWE Matches We Thought We Wanted To See (Until We Saw Them)

1. WrestleMania XXVI: Bret Hart Vs. Vince McMahon

Following the infamous Montreal Screwjob, there was real-life animosity between Bret Hart and Mr. McMahon that lasted for years. As such, plenty of fans (particularly those in The Great White North) wanted to see Hart get his revenge, even if it was in a kayfabe professional wrestling context. At WrestleMania XXVI, this well-documented feud finally came to a head inside the squared circle.

Unfortunately, by the time this match went down, Bret Hart's health had declined, and he was extremely limited. Sadly, he could no longer even take a bump. As a consequence, despite some help from family members on the outside, the match just couldn't properly convey the years of anger and frustration associated with one of wrestling's most heated feuds.

They tried to cap things off with a feel-good family reunion-type moment in the end, but even that felt a little hokey.

To be fair, from a business standpoint, it only made sense for WWE to make a few extra bucks off the Montreal Screwjob, with Bret Hart back in the fold. Still, though it was mostly due to circumstances outside anyone's control, the match at WrestleMania XXVI was a miss.
