MVP's spent much of his recent push extolling the virtues of 'The Almighty' Bobby Lashley, with much of the focus being around how he's not received a WWE Title shot in 13 years.

This ignores how he was gone for the bulk of that time, but it doesn't excuse the last two in particular. Lashley has floated aimlessly which - considering how much stock they put in him first time around - is something of a shock.

The backlash was less about the man than the manner when he emerged victorious from the cursed Extreme Elimination Chamber in 2006 as a very WWE ECW Champion. The decision flew in the face of a CM Punk-friendly crowd and departing booker Paul Heyman, with Bobby forced to carry the burden of the discontent through a WrestleMania programme with Umaga and into a summer series with The McMahon Family.

There, he got out of bother, before eventually getting out of the company altogether after that lone losing title shot against John Cena. He was, just before he left, the lesser of three evils...
