10 WWE Mid-Carders Who Never Get The Credit They Deserve

7. R-Truth

Speaking of those who made the best of it, the comedic timing of R-Truth came to the fore when he was written to have an imaginary friend called 'Little Jimmy' in 2011.

An extension of Truth's underrated and outlandish heel work opposite John Cena that same year, the invisible buddy shtick he worked led to significant fan attention and even a run alongside The Miz as a tag-team called 'The Awesome Truth'.

R-Truth hasn't hit those heights in more recent years, and that has more to do with age (Truth is 45 years old) than his own failings as a performer. WWE's turn in a different direction and development of the NXT brand has led to a diminished role for Truth alongside Goldust, and he works as a low-card comedy act nowadays.

People shouldn't forget the buzz that existed around Truth for his stellar promos claiming conspiracy was rife in WWE when it came to John Cena's endless push either, because they proved the guy had some serious chops on the mic. His matches from that period (whether alone or with Miz) weren't bad either, although they're rarely heralded today.
