10 WWE Moments That Just Left Us Confused

3. The Firefly Fun House

It should be noted that the 'us' in the this article's title is by no means a nosism; WrestleMania 36's Firefly Fun House match didn't leave this writer feeling particular confused, mostly amused. However, without a wider appreciation of John Cena's perception and and an intricate knowledge of some of the industry's key moments - not to mention a tolerance for absurdity - it must have been utterly confounding.

The principle complaint stems from the fact we were shown projections of John Cena's psyche, as he fought a psychological battle with The Fiend - himself an apparent manifestation of one's internalised fears. It's almost as if it's fiction.

Most got it - and most loved it. Crucially, one man didn't: Vince McMahon. Two rednecks kicking seven shades of sh*te out of each other in a factory is fine, but not this surprisingly subtle cinematic. It's unlikely we'll see anything like it again any time soon. It wasn't such good sh*t, apparently.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
