Did you know it was him, Austin, it was him all along? You of course did, but over two decades later, not a one of us are any closer to explaining the sense behind this one. Sure, it was entirely feasible that Vince McMahon was an evil Satanist partaking in dark rituals for his own empowerment - indeed, that may still be the case today - but the problem was that the storyline's logic had more holes than an emo's jeans.

Was the chairman's hatred of the Rattlesnake so fervent, so out-of-control, that he ordered druids to kidnap and sacrifice his own daughter? Anyone who has seen their 'I Quit' match at No Mercy 2003 perhaps finds this plausible. But it was a level of hatred that hadn't stopped McMahon from teaming with Austin against The Undertaker's evil Ministry of Darkness in the months before this dehooding.

Perhaps the true answer lies in the fact it was not Christopher Daniels or Jake Roberts - as allegedly planned - all along.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
