6. The Undertaker Hangs The Bossman

Ah, RussMan - sorry, WrestleMania XV - with your nonsensical heel turns, 35-second boxing matches and wrestler hangings. Yes, WWE felt like it was a good idea to actually hang one of their wrestlers. From the neck. By a rope. Big Bossman had the dubious honour of being hanged by The Undertaker and The Brood on the Showcase of the Immortals. Of course Bossman wasn't actually hanged - WWE wouldn't go that far. But they did stage the hanging, and the sight of Ray Traylor feigning loss of consciousness while his body swung to and fro was unsettling, especially for young and impressionable viewers. It's alright to do in a horror film, where it would be expected, but on a wrestling show? TV-14 or not, PPV or not, it was a nonsensical decision and represented a real creative low point.
