Ronda Rousey is the WWE Superstar Of The Year.

Two matches deep, the 'Rowdy' former UFC star has shown greater timing, instinct and performance panache than three quarters of a roster so scared of putting a foot wrong that they forget to put one right. She has mastered the importance of utilising space between moves in record time in a manner that shows up half of the most recent Performance Center graduates. Consider the moments at which she faced the most peril - Nia Jax flattening her in the corner then later downing her with a wicked powerbomb - and the mind's eye immediately travels to her perfect expressions and believable struggles in the face of the damage absorbed.

Assuming that this and the WrestleMania match were both carefully rehearsed, Rousey deserves enormous credit for being a good listener and fast learner and giving Jax her best ever match on the main roster. She is the lone unmitigated success story of 2018 and WWE have at least managed to maintain her integrity six months in.

As they have with Alexa Bliss, even if it's yet again potentially at the expense of the entire women's division. Her cash-in was electrifying, and again positioned her as wiser, wilier and better than the rest of the league. WWE can't book a babyface to save their f*cking lives, but bullies always get to win in Vince McMahon's world.
