10 WWE Money In The Bank 2021 Impulse Reactions

9. Women's Money In The Bank

This match had to open the show, and not because it stood a chance of not being able to follow much else on a fairly stacked card.

The women had to know going in to the match that good booking had deserted what should have been a p*ss easy build, but all seemed understandably hyped to be opening the first show with a full crowd since Elimination Chamber 2020.

They didn't waste all the enthusiasm, even if the match was hampered by just about every spot involving Alexa Bliss. Zelina Vega - a wrestler you'd think was immunised by marriage against spooky wrestling bullsh*t - was briefly hypnotised, and the whole field looked like f*cking idiots for countering her magic powers by burying her in ladders.

What was great was Liv Morgan's selling throughout, as were her nearly-moments with the case before the ring refilled and Nikki A.S.H somewhat surprisingly raced beyond the pack. The straightforward finish was a welcome change compared to the usual slow-climb contrivances, and the result was - generously perhaps - a nice surprise.

This wasn't a legendary Money In The Bank match, but WWE looked as though they'd actually been booking two women's divisions on the main roster for the last six months. That smoke-and-mirrors job alone was impressive.
