10 WWE Myths Fans Still Believe
6. The Hardcore Title Is The Old WWF Belt
It has long been suggested that the shaggy-looking Hardcore Championship belt worn by the likes of Crash Holly and Molly Holly (and, you know, Hardcore Holly) was fashioned from the remnants of the WWF title destroyed out of spite by Curt Hennig back in 1989.
This is, apparently, completely bogus. That particular belt was actually later sold as a piece of memorabilia, making the Hardcore title pretty much as worthless as it looked.
According to Reddit, though, this seemingly innocuous tidbit of trivia has been the subject of much consternation on the web, where one haughty Wikipedia administrator has for years refused to believe it wasn't true, banning anyone with the temerity to remove it from the footnotes.
And they say wrestling fans are weird.
