5. Tommaso Ciampa

If Johnny Gargano is to make it to WWE's main roster in 2018, then it only seems natural that Tommaso Ciampa should follow. The former DIY man is just as ready as his erstwhile partner, and while he'd face many of the same challenges as Gargano on Raw or SmackDown (size, for one), his act is more than strong enough to get over.

WWE fans haven't seen much of it yet, but Ciampa is an awesome heel. His betrayal of Gargano was one of 2017's most gut-wrenching moments, his follow-up promo was excellent, and he has continued poking the bear on social media. Ciampa and Gargano are going to have an all-time great developmental rivalry when 'The Sicilian Psychopath' returns from injury, and fans need only look at his late-run work in Ring Of Honor to understand his villainous potential.

Letting Gargano vs. Ciampa play out in NXT makes the most sense. There's a chance main roster writers would butcher the story, and no guarantee that the wider audience even know who these guys are. Once it's done, though, WWE must consider pulling the trigger on the duo's call-ups.
