10 WWE NXT Main Roster Call-Ups That Must Happen In 2019

7. Mia Yim

Undisputed Era
WWE

Mia Yim's shifts for Shimmer, CZW and Impact Wrestling positioned her well enough for WWE without the need to go through NXT first, particularly during a time in which the women's brand is loaded with performers arguably too likely to overshadow her on the developmental brand.

On NXT, she's third or fourth in line for a TakeOver match at best. On the main roster, it's the wild west. A second Women's Royal Rumble is on the horizon, Evolution could and should become an annual tradition, and the announcement of Women's Tag Team Championships calls for bolstered recruitment in order to make the division look broadly credible from the off.

Yim was one of many to show flashes of excellence in the Mae Young Classic, but may struggle as a ticket-taker in NXT's one-at-a-time push process. That's not to say other call-ups won't clear a spot in the queue, but she's a good enough all-rounder to jump it entirely should the opportunity be available.

A continued expansion is necessary if WWE want their women's division to retain the bonafide (rather than branded) credibility it earned in 2018. A flood of talent featuring the relatively fresh Mia Yim and notable others on this list would give it the best possible chance.
