9. The Ascension v. Bull Dempsey / Mojo Rawley
Of the tag team combinations entered into the soon starting number one contenders tournament for the NXT Tag Team Titles, the "makeshift team that can't get along" of Bull Dempsey and Mojo Rawley are arguably the most intriguing of the bunch. Dempsey is a hirsute and barrel chested "old school" brawling heel who has recently debuted and proven unstoppable in the ring. Rawley is a hyperactive, neon-clad and physically imposing babyface, whose only "defeat" has come at the hands of Rusev at NXT Takeover. Representing the physically largest team in the tournament, them winning and wrestling the similarly large Ascension would prove to be an ideal matchup given the similar sizes of the combatants. The Ascension have recently proven to finally be getting popular in the same manner as The Road Warriors, Demolition and ECW's Eliminators in the notion that their matches bear less in common with pro wrestling and are more in line with a German army blitzkreig. With Mojo and Bull both being charismatic and imposing presences, the chance for crowd intrigue in such a matchup is quite high, indeed.
