10 WWE NXT Stars Who Have Been Down In Developmental For 5 Or More Years

5. Oney Lorcan

Up until a few months ago (when he reportedly requested his release from WWE but wound up re-signing instead), Oney Lorcan was a regular on NXT TV as well as on 205 Live for the better part of 2019 (with an appearance on NXT UK sprinkled in as well). Thus, you'd be hard-pressed to find a WWE Superstar who defined the term "workhorse" last year more than him.

It's easy for fans to forget that he's been with the company since late 2015. He made his NXT TV debut quicker than most and became a constant on the program soon after. In 2016 alone, he battled everyone from Apollo Crews and Tye Dillinger to Austin Aries and Samoa Joe.

Lorcan continued to serve as an enhancement talent through 2017 and even defeated Andrade at one point. The tag team he formed with Danny Burch that summer took him to the next level and earned him his first match at a TakeOver special against Undisputed Era in June 2018.

The only experience he's had on the main roster since signing with WWE came in November 2016 when he faced Kalisto in a losing effort on an episode of SmackDown. He and Burch would be an excellent addition to either Raw or SmackDown's tag team division one day, but there's no guarantees they'd be used properly.
