10 WWE NXT Superstars You Totally Don't Remember
5. Hugo Knox
The curious case of Hugo Knox follows on neatly, and keeps the UK flag flying.
Knox put pen to paper on a contract in 2013, but he wasn't plucked from obscurity or the independent scene. No, he'd been a professional footballer for teams like Port Vale and Burton Albion before trading playing goalkeeper for pro wrestling. WWE clearly liked his physique and thought Stuart Tomlinson had promise, because they signed him up.
Tomlinson was renamed Knox and debuted on NXT in 2014. He'd only wrestle one match on TV - Hugo teamed with old Heavy Machinery member Tucker to face The Vaudevillains on the 2 March 2016 episode. All of his other bouts were either dark matches before TV tapings or on the road during NXT house shows.
WWE eventually cut Knox loose in 2016, and he returned to playing football. Hugo has done some modelling work on the side to keep himself busy since leaving the company. Will he ever be back? It's doubtful. Was he memorable? Man barely got a chance to be.
