10 WWE Payback 2020 Impulse Reactions

3. Dominik & Rey Mysterio Vs. Seth Rollins & Murphy

A match of two halves, the layout of this found time for Seth Rollins and Murphy to beat the f*ck out of both father and son in a way 'The Monday Night Messiah' clearly relished.

Affording Dominik Mysterio his second quality match in seven days, Rollins was in fantastic form again in a doubles match designed to transition his terrorising of the Mysterios into a long-simmering series with his acolyte Murphy.

Wrestled at a believable frantic pace to payoff what's been a fairly well booked blood feud, the contest overspilled with the sort of positive energy the SummerSlam singles match couldn't rely on. There, the brave son had to be humbled by the experienced pro. Here, the mix was just right for that bravery to be rewarded with a major win.

Rey was in fine fettle too, presumably buzzing to be working with Dominik and keen to make the match look as impressive as possible. 2020 might be the year his eye was extracted, but the story's happy ending may somehow render that rotten moment a mere footnote in an otherwise-excellent series.
