10 WWE Personalities Who Need To Retire (For Good)

5. Kane

Kane's Entrance The Big Red Machine was introduced to the then-WWF audience in 1997. Glen Jacobs, however, had been seen in the WWF before. As Issac Yankem, D.D.S. he was Jerry Lawler€™s dentist and played €œFake Diesel.€ (If you didn€™t know, now you do.) But Glen never really hit it big with either gimmick and in 1997, someone needed to step up and play the role of Kane, little brother to The Undertaker. In the years since, Glen has knocked it out of the park as Kane. Before Kane ever debuted, before he was ever mentioned, what would one have said to a guy being €œThe Undertaker€™s brother?€ Seven years into Taker€™s gimmick, who would€™ve said €œoh that is a good idea€? Obviously someone did. And what would follow is years of success for both men involved. Kane has held the WWE, World Heavyweight and ECW belts, as well as others and has even won a Money in the Bank match and a TLC match (by himself, btw.) He has done so much in his career. The character has gone from non-speaking, to very-rarely speaking (his first words being €œSuck It€) to one type of mask, to another, to no mask, to putting on a mask again (with a separate one just for entrances.) He, like The Big Show moves from heel to face quicker than a poorly-kicked hacky sack. I do have to admit, no one does €œreluctant face€ quite like he does. His current pairing with Daniel Bryan is only recently starting to get stale to me. But a day will come, where he will once again be the Big Red Machine, as if this year a groundhog saw his shadow and dictated the turn. Kane has always been impressive for his size and strength. He even does dropkicks and his signature clothesline from the top turnbuckle. But what more can you do with a character who was once said to have been €œburned from a huge fire€ only to remove his mask not looking like Freddy Kreuger? Turn him face again, then heel, then face? Might be time to take off the mask once and for all.
