10 WWE PPVs John Cena Main-Evented (But Shouldn't Have)

4. Elimination Chamber 2012 (Vs. Kane)

Cena's scuffles with Dolph Ziggler was not his only filler feud of 2012. To start off the year, he battled Kane in what won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's "Worst Feud of the Year" award. In the "Embrace The Hate" storyline, Kane returned to a masked, demonic persona, and essentially pestered John Cena to turn heel over and over again, to which Cena would always refuse. Truly compelling and interesting television right there.

The two had a boring feud that culminated at Elimination Chamber, where they would battle in the main event in an ambulance match.

Bear in mind, on this show, there were two world titles being defended in two different EC matches, and the show was called Elimination Chamber. Surely, CM Punk or Daniel Bryan were deserving of that main event slot, especially since the PPV was a stopgap before WrestleMania anyway.

But no, apparently, it was more important to have SuperCena defy the odds and defeat the evil monster Kane in the main event to give him momentum for his big match against the Rock. Sorry, Punk and Bryan, your title reigns mean nothing in comparison to Big Match John.

Thankfully, John Cena would never be unfairly slotted in front of Punk and Bryan ever again. Certainly not multiple times that year. No sir-ee...
