Admittedly, the Elimination Chamber idea has been done to death by WWE over the past decade or so. Even before the pay-per-view was named after the infamous match, No Way Out became home to the Chamber bouts. It was discarded following the 2014 event, replaced by Fastlane from 2015 onwards. It seems like the February slot is no longer an option. That doesn't mean the company should completely shelve Elimination Chamber as a concept outright, it could slot nicely into the early-May position. After all, it's difficult to build feuds for the Chamber matches, because they house multiple participants. Post-WrestleMania is traditionally a difficult time for WWE in terms of sparking interest, this could be just the ticket. The Elimination Chamber is a match premise that pro wrestling fans immediately identify with. A lack of blood has taken away from the danger of the bout, but it still remains a draw. In 2015, WWE presented Elimination Chamber as a WWE Network exclusive, and whilst it was seen as a throwaway show, it was much more effective than a limp Payback was the same year.
