10 WWE Predictions We Got Completely Wrong In 2018

9. "The Big Show & Kane Will Retire"

The Big Show and Kane are the unwanted gifts that keep on giving. The twilight of both men's career seems to be going on for an eternity.

Even being elected as an actual mayor, not a comedy mayor with a sash and a big key, but an actual mayor hasn't persuaded Kane to give up the ghost. Instead of hanging up the leather mask to concentrate on his political duties, Glenn Jacobs instead shrewdly creamed some of his Crown Jewel fee off for his Knox County constituency - all the while pocketing the difference.

It's hard to say who in attendance in Riyadh enjoyed his outing other than for the novelty of literally seeing a live Kane, as he and his three dilapidated Attitude cohorts clumsily shuffled around the ring like recently awoken golems. It was bad.

At the best of times, The Big Show had all the manoeuvrability of a barge. Time has not helped. Despite getting into the best shape of his life for a possible match with Shaq O'Neal at WrestleMania 33, nothing materialised, and his relevance seemed to have ended. It seemed he was quietly being written out of existence, until the sudden Saudi taste for all things 1999 came calling. He's back now, making people piss their pants. And not with laughter.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
