10 WWE Predictions We Got Completely Wrong In 2018

8. "The Network Price Will Increase"

With so much additional content being pumped out - and so many hare-brained, economically unsound offers being devised to boost quarterly numbers - 2018 seemed like it'd finally be the year when that massive $9.99 flag would be lowered from its Stamford mast.

Motivating this assumption was Vince McMahon's as-yet inexplicable decision to leverage WWE stock to fund the XFL revival. Talk of a two-tiered Network had been rumbling for some time, and now there was a $100 million hole in the company's accounts - one unlikely to be filled - a much rumoured $19.99 'premium' subscription was surely just around the corner.

What wasn't counted on was WWE pulling off two other deals just as inexplicable as XFL's exhumation. Both the grotty decade-long Saudi GSA partnership and the scarcely believable billion-dollar FOX contract ensure it's in Vince's interest to keep the Network as accessible as possible now that brand visibility is the most paramount concern. Heck, with that sort of cash in the attic, the promotion could even offer a concession.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
