Here's another one from our Randal.

Orton's genius ruse on the 30 December 2019 Raw lives long in the memory. The way he teased retirement before blasting AJ Styles with an RKO was tremendous stuff. Some might've forgotten what Randy spoke about before hitting that finisher "out of nowhere" however.

He talked about watching Edge go through hell in 2011 and have to retire before he was ready. Watch carefully and you'd even see Orton pause for a second so fans in Hartford heaped sympathy on the then-retired 'Rated-R Superstar'. It was almost like he was salivating at the thought of torturing Edge's fanbase even more.

Of course, Edge returned at the 2020 Rumble and went on to feud with his old tag-team partner. Randy foreshadowed a rivalry he must've had some inkling (Edge was in talks with WWE throughout the final quarter of that year) might happen months from that promo.

This was a master at work, and it set up their bitter conflict brilliantly.
