https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whLn6TkJkgA It's crazy to think the Elimination Chamber as a match concept is nearly twelve years old, and it's crazier to be able to remember a time before anyone knew what it was going to be. WWE had their work cut out for them when it came to promoting this match, as it's an unknown concept in a medium that prefers things it knowns and recognises. The first thing they do in the video, is create mystique about the Chamber. While they never outright say it, you get the feeling they want you to compare it to Hell in a Cell. If Hell in a Cell is the craziest match WWE has ever come up with, what the heck is going to sprout from the mad mind of Eric Bischoff? The second, and key thing they do with this promo package is de-emphasise the talking. So many promos are "I'm going to beat you, because X, Y, & Z" but the Elimination Chamber doesn't need that. This promo says "Here are six wrestlers you know are great. Here's a bunch of clips of them doing awesome things in time with nu-metal music. Now imagine all that in this crazy cage." Who wouldn't buy that PPV?
