8. More Japanese Wrestlers In WWE Hall Of Fame?
From @simonodocopp: We've seen Japanese guys Fujinami + Inoki in the WWE HOF, do you see Misawa, Kobashi, Muta etc. making it too in the near future?
Hall of Fame questions are always so difficult because we don't really know WWE's logic behind it and it's not like Vince McMahon is going to give some revealing interview as to one person is in while another is not. We almost never hear anything from WWE's inside circle about it. In terms of their works, the late Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi are probably the best Japanese wrestlers ever. It all depends on personal taste. If you watch their matches, though, you could see how incredible they were. However, they really have minimal involvement in American wrestling. You could make a case for guys like The Great Muta and Jushin Liger because they had pretty good careers in the NWA/WCW along with their legendary runs in Japan. The choice of Fujinami surprised a lot of people, but it wouldn't be a surprise if WWE picked a Japanese wrestler every year just because it would help them grow in that market. With a top guy like Hideo Itami on their roster, it's a good public relations move too. That's why WWE's Hall of Fame is tough to understand sometimes. In some ways it's the greatest accomplishment for a wrestler to be recognized and then it's also just something they do to bring attention to themselves.
