From @SethVigdor: When will Vince acknowledge that their vision for the Network (the platform they chose to use) is a failure?
Never. Vince doesn't like to acknowledge failure. The argument against admitting anything like that is that it's not a failure yet. A lot of new businesses struggle in the first year. Launching the WWE Network qualifies in that way. It was a risk to launch it only as an online thing in the US. If they could do it again they probably would have tried to make sure that they could get the WWE Network on cable television. The thing is, they tried doing that for years. They first announced it in late 2011, then took over two years to figure out what format they wanted and went for the online version. Notice that in Canada it's going to be on digital TV. That's the model that WWE probably wants to have anywhere. Maybe in 2-3 year they will get there and it could be very profitable by then too. We just don't know right now. They're losing more money than they anticipated, but in the next few years we might see that change drastically and at that point people may be calling Vince a "genius" because he opened the doors for other businesses to do the same. I'm optimistic about it. That's what would be best for all of us. Thanks for the questions as well.
