5. Do Fans Always Know The Difference Between A Work And A Shoot These Days?
Increasingly, wrestling fans have become better at spotting a worked shoot, as well as spotting the real thing on the rare occasion it occurs. However, on rare occasions, things still happen to blur those old lines beyond recognition.
The most recent example is Lesnar vs. Orton at Summerslam 2016, where a divided fanbase squabbled over whether Brock really had busted Randy's head open on purpose, or whether it was all a very clever example of smoke and mirrors.
The truth turned out to be somewhere in the middle, as the events of the match had been agreed beforehand, only for Lesnar to injure Orton more severely than expected.
Although we might occasionally find ourselves fooled, the prominence of newsletters, recap blogs, and weekly YouTube news series (sorry) mean that the truth is rarely covered up for too long.
