10 WWE Questions You Most Want Answered (July 12)

5. Relying On Attitude Era Stars At WrestleMania Too Much?

From @andyclemo: How long can WWE go to the 'Attitude Era' well to sell WrestleMania? Every year it's built on part timers and old stars. For the good of the future the emphasis should be on newer talent. They are hurting themselves in the long run going back to Attitude Era guys.
They will do it for as long as those guys are physically able to do it. If guys like Steve Austin or Shawn Michaels wanted to wrestle at WM32 then they would be. Since Undertaker wants to he will and same with Triple H, who seems to love wrestle at WMs without really working other shows. The same goes for The Rock, who is wrestling if he wants to because he's one of the biggest movie stars alive. The reason is that WWE knows that WrestleMania is going to be watched by the hardcore fan (people like us) no matter what, so they want to try to bring in the casual fans that may only know of the older guys because those fans were watching 15-20 years ago. That's why there's always going to be a sense of nostalgia at a WrestleMania. Is it the best thing to do? Yes and no. There's nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia at WrestleMania, but they put too much attention on the matches featuring the guys in their 40s or older. Triple H is invested in the future more than anybody in the company, so he should see how important it is for him to stop wrestling or if he does, to really put over somebody younger. Last year he did it with Daniel Bryan. This year he did not although his match with Sting was pretty memorable because of the DX vs. NWO parts.
